Constituem um alimento de alta qualidade para a nutri\u00e7\u00e3o humana e a seguran\u00e7a alimentar. Foto: Maria Eug\u00eania Ribeiro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pelo seu alto valor nutritivo e custo relativamente baixo, os gr\u00e3os pulses s\u00e3o uma alternativa ao consumo de prote\u00edna animal, o que pode favorecer, principalmente, uma parcela da popula\u00e7\u00e3o economicamente menos favorecida e, por isso, com acesso limitado a alimentos de qualidade e em quantidade suficiente para uma vida saud\u00e1vel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nota-se que a demanda por leguminosas pulses \u00e9 crescente, face \u00e0s oportunidades dos mercados interno e externo, o que faz com que seja projetado um crescimento para o setor nas pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas. Apesar das estat\u00edsticas sobre a participa\u00e7\u00e3o da agricultura familiar no com\u00e9rcio de pulses no Brasil serem limitadas, essas culturas s\u00e3o prop\u00edcias para serem cultivadas por esses agricultores por conta de suas caracter\u00edsticas. Por serem colhidos secos, os gr\u00e3os de pulses podem ser armazenados facilmente sem que estraguem, o que faz dessas culturas uma op\u00e7\u00e3o muito boa para agricultores familiares e de subsist\u00eancia. Em adi\u00e7\u00e3o, as a\u00e7\u00f5es baseadas em prote\u00ednas vegetais (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">plant-based<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), que utilizam tecnologia e inova\u00e7\u00e3o para aproxim\u00e1-las ao sabor e \u00e0 textura dos alimentos de base animal, ganham destaque.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Al\u00e9m disso, pulses t\u00eam capacidade de formar associa\u00e7\u00f5es simbi\u00f3ticas com bact\u00e9rias fixadoras do nitrog\u00eanio atmosf\u00e9rico e diferentes grupos de microrganismos promotores de crescimento vegetal. Essas associa\u00e7\u00f5es configuram-se como um diferencial vantajoso, capaz de colaborar para o crescimento dessas leguminosas em solos de baixa fertilidade ou em \u00e1reas submetidas a diferentes estresses abi\u00f3ticos, como seca, salinidade e temperatura. Foto: Kadijah Suleiman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">O Programa Nacional de Bioinsumos reconhece o papel dos inoculantes como uma ferramenta importante para reduzir a depend\u00eancia de fertilizantes qu\u00edmicos e contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade das plantas e a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as e pragas. Por meio desse programa, o governo busca incentivar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o e o uso de inoculantes de qualidade e promover o uso respons\u00e1vel desses insumos na agricultura brasileira. Existem muitas culturas de leguminosas pulses que t\u00eam inoculantes registrados no Minist\u00e9rio da Agricultura e Pecu\u00e1ria (Mapa), como feij\u00e3o-comum, feij\u00e3o-caupi, lentilha, gr\u00e3o-de-bico, ervilha e fava.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um programa de bioinsumos para essas leguminosas pulses, com a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de sementes b\u00e1sicas e de inoculantes com bact\u00e9rias selecionadas e eficientes agronomicamente, pode ser uma abordagem cr\u00edtica e construtiva de uma nova pol\u00edtica p\u00fablica que contribua para o desenvolvimento de uma agricultura tropical regenerativa. Lacunas em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 ado\u00e7\u00e3o de uma tecnologia existente esbarram em quest\u00f5es comuns que, normalmente, afetam as pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas: assist\u00eancia t\u00e9cnica e capacita\u00e7\u00e3o.
