Os pesquisadores simularam um cen\u00e1rio de aumento de 5\u00baC de temperatura, passando da m\u00e9dia de 25\u00baC para 30\u00baC, durante 45 dias. Diferentemente de outras nove cultivares testadas no mesmo experimento, as duas se desenvolveram bem nas novas condi\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">O estudo avaliou o efeito da temperatura sobre o desenvolvimento de plantas de alface, com o intuito de antecipar efeitos das mudan\u00e7as no clima do planeta. \u201cPara isso, trabalhamos dois valores de temperatura do ar, conforme a m\u00e9dia hist\u00f3rica observada e projetada em um cen\u00e1rio extremo de mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas globais (MCGs) para o Brasil: 25\u00baC\/20\u00baC e 30\u00baC\/25\u00baC (dia e noite, respectivamente)\u201d, detalha o pesquisador da Embrapa Hortali\u00e7as (DF), Carlos Pacheco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Os experimentos foram conduzidos na C\u00e2mara de Crescimento Vegetal do centro de pesquisa, capaz de simular par\u00e2metros atmosf\u00e9ricos como temperatura, umidade relativa do ar e concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de g\u00e1s carb\u00f4nico, por exemplo. Ele explica que esse florescimento antes do tempo causa efeitos delet\u00e9rios como alongamento do caule, redu\u00e7\u00e3o do n\u00famero de folhas e produ\u00e7\u00e3o de l\u00e1tex, subst\u00e2ncia que confere sabor amargo \u00e0 folhosa. A C\u00e2mara de Crescimento Vegetal \u00e9 um ambiente fechado capaz de simular cen\u00e1rios clim\u00e1ticos futuros. Em um espa\u00e7o reduzido, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel testar o comportamento das plantas, cultivadas em vasos, a partir da proje\u00e7\u00e3o de diferentes fatores como temperatura, umidade, CO2, radia\u00e7\u00e3o e outros. \u201cNesse ambiente simulado, as plantas s\u00e3o expostas \u00e0s condi\u00e7\u00f5es extremas para que se identifique as mais resilientes \u00e0s altas temperaturas e a outros fatores como o d\u00e9ficit h\u00eddrico, por exemplo\u201d, acrescenta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Pr\u00f3ximo passo<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pacheco informa que o trabalho faz parte de uma s\u00e9rie de estrat\u00e9gias de enfrentamento \u00e0s condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.
